INGREDIENTS
1/2 c. chopped celery and leaves
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 chopped parsley
3 T. fat
5 tart apples, diced
1/2 c. sugar
Salt and pepper
1 c. breadcrumbs
INSTRUCTIONS
Cook celery, onion, and parsley for a few minutes in one-half of the fat; remove vegetables from pan. Put the rest of the fat in the pan,heat, and add diced apples. Sprinkle apples with sugar; cover and cook until tender. Remove the lid and continue to cook until apples are candied. Mix vegetables, salt, and pepper with the apples; add breadcrumbs. Use for stuffing bird or bake in greased pan in moderate oven 350 degree for 30 to 40 minutes.
