INGREDIENTS
1 pkg veal steaks, breaded
1 pkg. Mozzarella cheese, sliced
Parmesan cheese, grated
TOMATOE SAUCE
1 can tomato paste
3 tomato paste cans of water
dash of cinnamon, ground
dash of cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
dash of cloves, ground
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 cup onions, dry, finely chopped
1 tbsp. flour
INSTRUCTIONS
Cook frozen steaks in deep fat until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Place fried steaks on a sheet pan. Set aside. Prepare tomato sauce.
TOMATO SAUCE:
Combine water, tomato paste, sugar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil; reduce to simmer. Saute onions in shortening 5 minutes or until onions are lightly browned. Add flour to sauteed onions and fat; stir until well blended. Add roux to tomato mixture, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
Place a 1/2 slice Mozzarella cheese on each steak. Place tomato sauce over steaks in pan. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over each steak. Heat in a 350 degree F. oven 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
