Clam Chowder with Vegetables

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp. margarine or butter
1/4 cup onions, chopped
1/2 cup celery, sliced
1/4 cup carrots, chopped
2 medium potatoes, peeled, chopped
1 can (14 1/2 oz.) chicken broth
2 cans (6 1/2 oz.) clams, chopped
1 cup milk (or half and half)
salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Melt butter in a 2 qt. saucepan over medium heat. Add celery and onions; saute until tender. Add remaining ingredients except for the milk. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add milk and heat thoroughly. Serve.
