INGREDIENTS

7 lbs cucumbers
2 cups slack lime
5 lbs. sugar
2 Tbsp.salt
2 qts. vinegar
3 Tbsp. pickling spice

INSTRUCTIONS

Wash and slice cucumbers. Mix lime with enough water to cover the cucumbers and soak for 24 hours. Stir occasionally. Rinse well. Mix sugar, salt, and vinegar. Tie pickling spices in cheesecloth bag and add to mixture. Put cucumbers in this and soak for 24 hours. Boil cucumbers and syrup mixture for 20 minutes and put in hot jars and seal. Green food coloring may be added before cooking.
