Butter Pound Cake

INGREDIENTS

1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup Crisco
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup sweet milk (reg.)
3 cups cake flour
dash of salt
1 1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream real good butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add milk and flour alternately. I heap my cups of flour up and use large eggs to make a large cake. Mix in and together a dash of salt, lemon flavoring and vanilla.

Bake at 325 degrees F. for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Watch it and test for doneness when light brown. If your stove cooks to fast you may have to bake at 300 degrees F.
