Chocolate Pound Cake

INGREDIENTS

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 bar (4 oz.) melted German Chocolate
3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk

GLAZE:
1 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup nuts, chopped
1 tbsp. cream

INSTRUCTIONS

In mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition; blend in vanilla and add chocolate. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk; beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Pour into buttered, 10" tube pan and bake in pre-heated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 300 degrees F. Cool in pan at least 10 minutes before removing cake to wire rack. Cool completely before frosting with glaze.

GLAZE:
Melt butter, brown sugar. Add coconut and nuts mixing well. Stir in cream and continue to heat 1 minute; spread over top of cake. Let cake cool before spreading glaze.
