INGREDIENTS
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup margarine, softened
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup orange juice
TOPPING:
1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
1-1/2 tbsp grated orange rind
1/3 cup chopped nuts
2 tbsp margarine softened
GLAZE:
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 cup almonds, sliced
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine flour, salt, soda, baking powder and sugar. Cut in 1/3 cup margarine until mixture becomes crumbly. Add beaten eggs and orange juice. Stir in just enough to blend. Pour batter into 8 x 8 x 2 greased and floured cake pan. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, orange rind, chopped nuts, and softened margarine and sprinkle over cake batter. Bake 350 oven for 30 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Spread glaze over cake. Serve warm.
