Raisin Nut Cake

INGREDIENTS

1/2 lb. crisco
1/2 lb. margarine
2 cups sugar
6 egg yolks
1 1/2 oz. lemon flavoring
4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 box white raisings
1 1/2 to 2 qts. pecans
6 egg whites. beaten

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream shortening, butter and sugar together. Add 1 at a time 6 egg yolks. Cream all. Add lemon flavoring and 3 cups of flour. Put 1 cup of flour in a paper bag. To the 3 cups of flour add 2 tsp. baking powder and to the 1 cup flour in the bag add 1 box white raisins and pecans. Shake well, set aside.

Beat 6 egg whites and fold nuts into batter, then fold in egg whites. Put in cold oven. Bake 275 degrees F. for 2 hours.
