INGREDIENTS
1 lb. powdered sugar, sifted
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 1/4 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup egg yolks
1 tsp. almond flavoring
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: EGG MIXTURE
Add 3/4 sifted powdered sugar to a double boiler and place over hot water. Add egg yolk, blending with powdered sugar. after mixture is lukewarm remove pan from the boiler. Mix and beat mixture until fluffy and light and then let cool.
STEP 2: BUTTER MIXTURE
In a separate bowl, cream cornstarch, butter and the remaining 1/4 powdered sugar until foamy. Add 1 tsp. almond flavoring and blend thoroughly.
STEP 3:
Combine and mix in egg mixture to butter mixture gradually without overmixing. Chill frosting for several minutes before using.
