INGREDIENTS
1/2 gallon blackberries
1/2 cup of sugar
1 tbsp. corn starch; mix with 3 or 4 tbsp. water
1 can apple pie filling, sliced (no sugar) (or 2 cups sliced apples)
1/2 cup water
DUMPLING MIXTURE
1 cup self-rising flour
2 tbsp. sugars
2 tsp. shortening
1/4 cup milk
INSTRUCTIONS
In a large pot add blackberries, apple slices, 1/2 cup sugar, corn starch and water. Heat until it comes to a boil. Pour into a pan and add dumpling mixture on top. Dice butter and place on top. Cook about 20 to 25 minutes at 400 degrees F.
